Account Deletion Request

Groce (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a collaborative grocery list app for Android and iOS, operated by Jordan L. Araujo Jr. If you would like to delete your Groce account and have your personal data removed from our systems, please follow the steps below. Deletions are processed manually by the developer, who has direct owner-level access to the Firebase project that stores all Groce data.

How to request deletion

1. Send your request from your Groce account email. Your email address is the only way we can verify your identity and match your request to the correct account. We cannot action requests sent from a different address than the one associated with the account being deleted.
2. Use the button below to open your mail app with the subject and body pre-filled. Review the pre-filled text, fill in your details where indicated, then send.
3. Wait for our acknowledgement. We aim to reply within 5 business days to confirm we have received your request.
4. Receive your confirmation. Once deletion is complete you will receive an email confirmation at the same address. The full process may take up to 30 days from the date we receive your request.

What data is deleted

Upon completion of your request, the following data is permanently removed from Groce’s systems:

• Your Firebase Authentication record — email address, password hash (if applicable), and Google Sign-In linkage.
• Your Firestore user document — display name, profile photo URL, and legal-age attestation timestamp.
• All grocery lists you own and every item within them — names, quantities, units, categories, checked/unchecked state, and any attached photos.
• All pending invitations and join-link requests associated with your email address.
• Your display name and email as they appear in the collaborator views of lists owned by other users. These are reviewed and removed or anonymised manually by the developer so that other users’ lists are not corrupted.

What may be retained

• Service logs held by Firebase / Google Cloud under Google’s standard retention policy. These are infrastructure-level logs we cannot delete on demand.
• Advertising identifiers previously collected by Google AdMob. These are not stored in Groce’s own systems; they are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

No personal content is retained in the Groce Firestore database after your deletion request is fully processed.

Timing

We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days. Full deletion will be completed within 30 days of receiving your request. You will receive an email confirmation at your Groce account address once everything has been removed.
